I’ve got to admit, when I signed on with IX, I didn’t expect much. I found them through one of those sites that just lists the cheapest hosts, and I needed someone who supported Linux and CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP, did I mention CHEAP? I figured I’d just have to power through whatever problems arose. But things have been really great since I’ve been using IX. I only was down on one occasion and that wasn’t IX’s fault, it was my incompetent roommate dinking around. I couldn’t figure out what happened but IX support got it all worked out and my blog was back up soon. (I think it might’ve actually been a good thing because I got a lot of email asking what happened. I didn’t know my blog was so beloved!)
Also, I didn’t know when I signed up that they have their own team of specialists. I saw some of the sites their designers made and they rock. Next time I’m having them do it so I don’t have to mess with it.
Okay, is it sad that I almost didn’t sign up them because it seemed too cheap? Like how jaded is that. But my total cheapness got the best of me and I’m glad because there’s totally nothing wrong with them, they just don’t cost much. I got the basic for $3.95 although I had to sign up for two years which made me nervous but it’s turned out cool, I haven’t had any problems with them yet and service was good even though I thought they were probably getting sick of me. I started thinking they’d see it was me and not answer.
It’s got a thing I’d never heard of before where if someone emails any address @yourdomain, even if they typo it, you still get it which is good because that’s happened a few times and one of them was really important. Although now I set up a contact form so that doesn’t happen anymore. And they back up everything on your site so you can’t screw it up which I haven’t needed (knock on wood) but you wouldn’t think they would have that because that’s usually with the more expensive ones, and it even does stats for even the cheap one.
Just recently I was looking for a good web hosting company, because of issues I was experiencing. I didnt rely too much on the internet to help me find that hosting company, but started to ask other people that I knew handled large websites. They recommended ixwebhosting.com, so I went and looked at a few reviews. It turns out that Ix Web Hosting, is actually a great company. They offer fast customer service, even on weekends. Their response time is incredible. They have great online manuals that walk you through every step, and offer lots of extra services on their c-panel I am incredibly happy with this service.
